Our ground floor took water years ago and there is a smell every summer. Can cleaning fix it?
If the wet material was duct board, no, and we would rather lose the job than pretend otherwise. Fibrous liner holds silt and biological material deep in the material where no tool reaches, and warm humid weather brings the odor back annually. That plenum or trunk section needs replacing.
