What is Source Removal?

The defining method of a real duct cleaning: the system is placed under negative pressure so that everything loosened is drawn out of the building, and each run is agitated mechanically so material is actually released. Cleaning without negative pressure moves contamination around the system instead of removing it.

MERV
The standardised scale for how efficiently a filter captures particles.
Pressure Drop
The airflow resistance a filter or fitting adds to the system.
Static Pressure
The pressure the blower works against — the measurement that says what filter a system can take.
NADCA ACR Standard
The industry standard defining what a legitimate duct cleaning actually is.
Plenum
The main air chamber directly at the air handler where supply or return trunks connect.
Boot
The fitting where a duct run connects to a ceiling, wall or floor opening.
