Argyle is acreage, and that turns up inside the ductwork in two ways. The houses were largely built one at a time to their owners' drawings, so there is no plan book to work from. In a tract subdivision we know roughly where the air handler sits before the door opens. Here we map the system, and we have traced runs crossing an unconditioned attic the length of a whole wing to reach one room at the far end. The other difference is what is outside. Gravel drives, open pasture and county roads put fine grit into the air that a shaded subdivision never sees, and wherever the return side leaks, the system draws that in ahead of the filter. Most of Argyle heats electrically because the gas main does not reach much of it. Where nothing burns, nothing needs venting, and the coil, the pan and the drain take the attention instead. The limitation worth naming: a heavier filter is the obvious answer to a dusty property, and it will quietly starve an older blower if nobody measures static pressure first.

We are on acreage with a barn. Does that change the filter conversation?
It changes the schedule more than the rating. Hay dust and arena grit ride in on clothing and through open doors, so the filter loads faster than any box on the shelf predicts. We would rather fit a deeper media cabinet that holds more without adding resistance than push a dense one-inch filter that chokes the blower and gets changed late anyway.

Those are the ones we find in the worst shape. A system serving a building used a few weekends a year still condenses moisture every time it runs, then sits idle with a filter nobody remembers. On a property like yours the outbuilding system is frequently worse than the house and cheaper to put right, so we scope it separately rather than folding it into one number.
