UV Air-Purification Light Installation in Mesquite
UV-C lamps installed where moisture lets microbes grow.
01Mesquite — the housing record
What Mesquite actually has behind its walls.
Before anyone quotes a duct job here, this is the stock they are quoting against. It is public Census data, and it is different in every city we cover.

What that means for ducts
Mixed-era stock
Mesquite splits across build eras — 25% pre-1980, 4% since 2010 — so two houses on the same street can need completely different work. It is the case where guessing from the curb is worst, and where a camera before a quote saves the most money.
That is a reading of the city’s stock, not a diagnosis of your home. Which of it applies to you is exactly what the camera settles — and why we would rather run one than quote from a postcode.
02Working in Mesquite
The part that changes from street to street.
Almost nothing has been built in Mesquite since 2010, so we never have the conversation here that we have in Frisco or Prosper about whether a system is too new to be worth opening. Every duct system in this city has been in service at least fifteen years and most of them considerably longer. What makes Mesquite specific is not age on its own though, it is the number of houses that have grown. A converted garage, an enclosed patio, a bedroom added off the back, and in nearly every case the new space was served by splicing a branch off the nearest trunk rather than resizing anything upstream of it. That branch takes air the rest of the house was already using, which is why the back of these homes never quite matches the front. Gas furnaces are common, usually in a hall closet or the garage, so the cabinet and flue connection belong in the visit. And the older Mesquite attics we work in hold blown insulation that every trade has walked through for fifty years, which is what gets pulled in through a boot that has lost its seal.

03UV Air-Purification Light Installation — in this stock
When a treatment is actually indicated.
Treatments are offered on evidence, not on age. In mixed stock that means the camera decides: staining, animal intrusion, or a documented moisture event. No indication, no treatment — and our technicians are not paid on what they add.

Will a UV light purify the air in my whole house?
Not by itself, and we'll never claim otherwise. Air moves past the lamp too quickly for much single-pass effect; UV's real work is keeping continuously wet surfaces — coil area, drain pan — clean, which prevents the microbial growth and odor that start there.
How often does the bulb need replacing?
Annually, as a rule. Germicidal output fades long before the visible glow does, so a lamp can look alive while doing little.

05Questions
Asked in Mesquite, answered straight.
Think of it as surface hygiene that complements filtration, not a force field.
How often does the bulb need replacing?
Annually, as a rule. Germicidal output fades long before the visible glow does, so a lamp can look alive while doing little. We put a dated label at the unit when we install, show you the swap procedure, and the replacement is a simple, inexpensive routine from there.
The converted garage never cools. Is its duct blocked?
Sometimes, but more often it was never given enough to begin with. Garage conversions in Mesquite were typically served by tapping the nearest trunk with one small branch, which borrows air from rooms that were already using it. Cleaning that branch adds no capacity. Measuring what it actually delivers tells you whether the fix is a larger run or a separate solution entirely.
Our ceiling registers have gray fuzz around the edges. Is that mold?
Usually not. In Mesquite's older attics it is nearly always insulation fibers and attic dust drawn in through a supply boot whose seal has failed, then deposited at the register edge on the way out. We would rather find and seal that leak than treat a symptom, and sealing it is also what stops the marking from coming back.
Is there a point where cleaning is not the right call?
Yes, and Mesquite gives us that call fairly often. If the flex is thirty-five years old with a torn liner and insulation compressed flat, brushing it produces a clean photograph and a system that performs exactly as poorly as before. We photograph it, show you what we are looking at, and recommend replacing that section instead.
